North West Bay Scouts

Baden Powell started scouting in 1909. The scouts' motto is “Be Prepared.”  When scouts started only boys were allowed to join. Now boys and girls can join but girls mostly join Guides. The scouting movement includes Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Guides. Did you know that the leaders' names come from the "The Jungle Book" by Rudyard Kipling?

The cost of the uniform (hat, scarf, belt, shirt and shorts) and membership fees cost around $288 per year.

Scouts Tasmania and Scouts Australia offers more about Scouts.

Joeys

North West Bay Joeys spend a fun-filled hour with games and craft, cooking and out door activities. If you have a 6 to 8 year old who is interested, we meet on Mondays at Snug Community Hall from 4pm to 5pm. If you are interested come along and see what we do.
